Kathryn Haskins

Katie Haskins is Professor of Immunology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and National Jewish Health. Katie completed her PhD in Biochemistry in 1981, moved to Denver for postdoctoral work in Immunology, and joined the faculty at the U. of Colorado in 1986. Katie's research interests have been centered on CD4 T cells in T1D and using a panel of diabetogenic CD4 T cell clones, she has investigated CD4 T cells in the pathogenesis and immunoregulation of autoimmune diabetes in the NOD mouse. Recent studies have focused on identification of autoantigens for autoreactive CD4 T cells, leading to discovery of two new beta cell autoantigens for CD4 T cells.
